So, I thought that I should start blogging in english. I know that I promised my good friends Christina and Natacha that I would do exactly that, a long time ago. And finally, the time has come.
More importantly, the time to start packing, mentally preparing and saying my good byes, has also come. The first week of preparation is over. And thanks to Fredskorpset I am now more ready to meet my personal cultural challenges, I know more about personal health and security issues abroad, and I finally got to meet the two youth delegates from Rwanda who are coming to Norway. Kenneth and Fify are great people, which makes me even surer that my stay in Butare might actually become the time of my life (or at least one of them).

The fact that Fredskorpset and Red Cross is receiving (and paying for) two young people from Rwanda as well as sending two norwegian delegates, is what makes their efforts, special. The important part of sending participants abroad is the exchange aspect of it – it’s not teaching which is the only important thing, but also learning while away from home.
So, the 13th of September, 15 days from now, Harald and me, will be on a plane towards East Africa – more accurately Nairobi. Wish me luck!
